I was not expecting this show to be something I'd enjoy, but after continuing to see people talk about and post vids of the musical numbers and character moments, I was finally driven to check it out and...It's my current hyper fixation...This show is brilliant.

One aspect as to why I honestly wasn't going to check it out is because of Hell of a Boss, which I had watched the pilot of years ago and really wasn't that interested...I wouldn't say I hated it, but it seemed like something not for me, so I assumed Hazbin Hotel wouldn't be much different...I was wrong...I genuinely love this show.

For anyone sleeping on this show, or maybe is turned off because of the more toxic side of the fandom(Although what fandom doesn't have that honestly?)...Don't...Just check it out.

Is Drawing Fun?

2 min read

I saw two different artists on social media who had two different opinions on their experience with drawing art. Both enjoyed the creative expression of art, but one found the actual process boring, while the other artist enjoyed it...It got me thinking , cause to be perfectly honest...I feel like I relate to the prior artist's experience more then the later, as of late...I'm not really sure if I do enjoy drawing anymore...However, I still love the concept of being creative, and being able to express my imagination, however weird and or cringe it might be...

I like to create things that people can enjoy, or at the very least look at and think: "Neat"...That makes my brain worms dance...But it's getting harder and harder to bring myself to actually put digi-pen to tablet and go through the motions required to exercise the artistic demons from my brain...I have things I wanted to draw from years ago that I never have, because I just couldn't make the effort.

It makes me wonder how many other artists out there feel about it...How many enjoy the tedium of the activity itself, or just the creativity side of it?

...And if anyone brings up AI...That's not creativity or expression...That's just asking a robot to regurgitate a warped facsimile of someone else's work.

So...Is Sega entering a new renaissance?

I want to be hyped...But I'm also cautiously optimistic...Particularly for Golden Axe, as that franchise has a rough history with remakes and reimagines...The new Crazy Taxi looks pretty sick though, and that's a concept pretty hard to mess up.

The new Shinobi visually looks neat with the 2D graphics, which I can already see people complaining on why not do that with Golden Axe and Streets of Rage, even though we already got a great modern 2D Streets of Rage back in 2020, so imo a new game should probably try something different just to keep from being too repetitive.

And then there's Jet set, which...Honestly, something about the visual style looks off to me, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

Dis-Unity

2 min read

So Unity, one of the most popular game engines next to Unreal, just ruined not only their own business model, but the business(And possibly lives.) of many indie game devs who have suddenly been blind sided, all because they made a game with this engine.

If this goes through as they plan, this will devastate the indie game scene. Some studios have already said that they will likely be taking their game down come next year in hopes to avoid this new fee...This will bankrupt small businesses in the game industry, as well as possibly destroy a huge library of indie games themselves.

The only good that could come from this is the fact that the majority of the industry don't seem to think this is a good idea, and at least one might never see this became a standard, because it's a standard that would literally destroy the industry as a whole. It is a completely unsustainable business model built exclusively on short sighted corporate greed. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if this CEO's plan all along was to intentionally tank the company as a tax write off...Otherwise, this is a cartoonish level of out of touch greed driven stupidity, truly a killing the golden goose situation.

[EDIT]

The more this unfolds the more corrupt this seems to get...This whole thing is clearly an attempt at extortion...And not even a very good attempt at that. It really does seems like the CEO and other scum fuck suits at the top had no fucking idea what they were doing...I really hope they get into some serious legal trouble for this, cause this is just insane levels of incompetent greed.

Yo, what?

Apparently I'm a little late on this, but I just found out that Toxic Crusaders is getting the Shredder's Revenge treatment with a all new arcade style beat em up.

The existence of this franchise was always a weird phenomenon, cause at the time, when I was a kid playing with the toys and watching the cartoon, I had no idea about the Troma films,(Probably for good reason.) so when I, much later, did find out about the super fucked up mature Toxic Avenger films that this was based off of, it was always amusing to me that someone looked at those and thought: "Yeah, we can turn this into a kid's franchise."

I suppose it wasn't completely without cause, as there was a lot of R-rated films being made into kid's toys back then, from franchises such as Alien to Robocop...Even still, this one always stood out as the most bizarre.
